Worth a stop if you’re in town.

This historic house honors novelist F. Scott, best known for "The Great Gatsby," and his wife, Zelda, artist and author. The museum operates out of the last surviving home they lived in during their lives together. The structure was saved from demolition in 1986. It is the location where Scott worked on "Tender is the Night", and Zelda on "Save Me the Waltz". You can now stay in the house in either Scott or Zelda Suite. Please see the museum website for Airbnb details and availability.

    Jazz Age in Montgomery
My family and I visited The Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum in Montgomery. It's closed on Monday and Tuesday and opened Wednesday-Sunday 10am-3pm. Admission is $10 per person. There is Free parking behind the house (enter driveway on the side of the house (Dunbar Street) because driveway in the front is very narrow. It takes about 1 hour to tour the museum (self-guided). Cameras are allowed but no flash. The museum is partially wheelchair accessible. The museum is located on main floor. The rooms are laid out in different time periods. There're about 6 rooms to explore. One room is where Scott and Zelda met, 2nd Room is This Side of Paradise Exhibit, 3rd Room The Great Gatsby Exhibit, 4th Room is Zelda's Art Gallery Exhibit, 5th Room is about daughter Scottie Exhibit, and 6th Room is The Beautiful and Damned Exhibit. The upstairs has 2 different rooms (The Zelda Suite and The Scott Suite) made into Airbnb that can be rented for over night stay. Guest who stay in the suits have complimentary tour of the museum.

    Scott Suite
This was our 2nd trip to the Fitzgerald Museum and house. During our 1st trip, we stayed overnight in the Zelda Suite which has two bedrooms. On that occasion, we toured the downstairs museum. This trip we decided to stay in the Scott Suite which is smaller and has only one bedroom (and a pull-out sofa bed). Personally, as an avid Scott Fitzgerald reader, I prefer the Scott Suite. The room is listed for $115 but an additional $19 booking fee, a $20 clean-up fee, and a $20 occupancy tax are added for a total of $174. Occupants are also expected to remove their trash to the garbage cans outside. The Fitz is a fun place to stay particularly if one enjoys old and historic houses.
