These guys are the best on the Creek!
We purchased our boats from these guys and they are top notch people! I wanted to give a shout out to these guys. In Memorial Day we made the mistake of choosing another company to shuttle us to float the creek. When we put in we realized two couples with us did not have life vests. We asked the people that we used to shuttle us if they could borrow 2 vests and they would not let them. We put in the creek anyways and floated down to the Terrapin Outdoor Center. The couple went in and asked if they could borrow or buy 2 vests. Terrapin Outdoor let them "borrow" the vests. Now mind you this is us using another company to float the creek! I just believe these guys care more about just getting your money. I just wanted to let everyone know the type of people that are Terrapin Outdoor Center. Great people! Will definitely be using them from here out!

Affordable Fun For Families
We have a family of 6 and are always looking for affordable adventures that involve getting the kids out of the house and out from in front of the television or game controller. We've been down terrapin creek several times and really like this place. Here's some helpful hints: 1. Call and check the water levels before you go. If there's been a drought, then you will still be able to go down the creek but there will be places where you will have to get out and push/pull. 2. The creek is cold, even during the summer time. I would make sure it's at least 80 or above, especially if your sensitive to cold water. I mean,,,I'm a tough guy and everything...but I like to avoid the misery of really cold water below the waistline! 3. There are no places to eat along the way but there is a place for a small cooler on your top sider. Be sure to take drinks and snacks. 4. Medical help will be a LOOOON ways away so a small first aid kit for a bee sting, cut, etc..is always stuck in a plastic bag inside our playmate cooler. 5. Parking is free and there is plenty of it. Give this place a try.

Fun Time; Friendly, Hospitable Folks
My wife and my son (age 10) decided to give floating Terrapin Creek a try and we used Terrapin Outdoor Center in July 2016. I called ahead and made reservations (which I recommend) and found our day to be enjoyable. The creek water level was very low so we have to get kayaks instead of a 3 person canoe. This raised our expense from $50 for a 3 person canoe to $90 for three kayaks. I am not complaining, but recommending you call to check the water level and plan appropriately. The Terrapin Outdoor Center is not responsible for water level. If you need more water, prayer harder. We floated on the "lower float" (7 miles) for our four hour trip. I was pleased with the trip, but wish there were more rapids. (I will prayer harder) There is a section of the river that was very still. It was peaceful, but without a good current to push you, your arms might get tired from paddling. Getting the canoes in and out at the dam took some effort due to the way it clogged up with people, but not complaints here. The water was great; not too cold and not too warm. The float was peaceful and well worth the four hours we spent. The staff was very helpful and efficient. My son did very well and is now ready for a nap. My Recommendations: - Call ahead and make reservations. - Call to check the water level. - Bring snacks and waters. It is a four hour float. - Take a dry bag and dry phone case. I recommend using Terrapin Outdoors and will use them again. I will be contacting them about our church group taking a float one day. Since we floated the "lower tract" today, I will be floating the "upper tract" when the water level rises.
