    magnificent
Talladega is hallowed ground. period! it is the world's largest, fastest, widest, most steeply banked and fastest race track. you really must see it in person to take in the scope, the magnitude and the sheer size of the facility. nothing else like it on earth. they only host 2 races a year....early may and mid october....so the rest of the time set aside for tours and smallish events. at the front is the motorsports museum. well worth the price of admission. you just can't imagine that tucked in the woods of NE alabama with one single small interstate on/off ramp, lies the biggest racetrack ever built. and nothing finer than Alabama folks.

Interesting tour around the racetrack and thru the Hall of Fame
My husband is an avid Nascar fan. We have visited a number of the Nascar race tracks an decided to stop and see Talladega Superspeedway on our way to Florida. We visited the racetrack and Hall of Fame which is on the grounds of the speedway. Admission was $16 for adults for the museum and a van tour of the track. There is no senior discount on the packages. The museum was quite large with lots of cars and history. We finished the self-guided tour thru the museum and had to wait a while for the van tour of the track. It wasn't busy and I have to assume that they wanted to try to fill the van up before doing a tour (they advertise that there are tours every 1/2 hour). The tour was interesting, however the ride around the track was just at the bottom of the track. Other speedways will take you part way up on the inclines. This track did have a VERY steep incline and it was interesting to try and imagine how a car sticks up there ! We were glad to have done both the museum and the track tour.
