Wonderful Experience with Volunteers

The volunteers agreed to be there from 10-12 on Saturday. Three groups showed up. We watched an excellent video and had a great discussion afterward. Then we spent time looking at the exhibits. All ages (4th grader to Grandmas liked it.

    A Quite Backroad of History
A small but meaningful museum recording the memories of the Civil Rights movement and a night when Martin Luther King was hidden from a mob with who knows what consequences. Run by a lady who was a participant and restored and preserved by an effort of the Auburn University Architecture school's Rural Studio. It is best to call ahead to see if it is open or visit on an event day. Check the web site. An interesting story, the events, the Rural Studio and the continued story of the area. A meaningful stop worth the effort.

    SAFE HOUSE MUSEU,
This place was an excellent learing experience. A lot of the younger generation were exposed to the Civil Rights movement. There were issues displayed there were not revealed in history books. Everyone enjoyed the gift shop.
