Fun place to cool off
We had 2 babies, 1 four yr old, 1 ten yr old and 2 adults when we went. Everything was clean and the beach was shaded some near the benches. They have a shower where you can spray off all the sand. If you just sat in the water the little fish kept bitting you. Not a big deal really. Just caught us off guard. Restrooms were really far away from beach area.

Very affordable family fun
You can fish, there are several boat launches, a pavilion for grilling and a man-made beach for the kids. We all enjoy it. You can buy an annual park pass for $30. There are bathrooms in the parking lots and I've read that you can camp but I haven't checked that out yet. The beach part doesn't open until after Labor Day but can be accessed by boat before then. I haven't been able to find a phone number for it. I wanted to find out if the pavilions are available for rent or a birthday party.

Great Hiking
The hike was great! The trail wasn't super well marked at the first entrance (the only one open in the "offseason" when the beach is closed). But the trails are beautiful - although they could use a little cleanup - there was trash everywhere in the water.
