A Great two day stay and and a great float down the creek!
This is the second year that we have rented the pavilion pitched multiple tents and had a great time at the RYC! Owners Hank and Teresa Nelson have been great hosts both years. These days, people want to tell you that it is about the customer experience, well this is true, and it was great, but what they want to know, and they do ask, is are you having a good time? Did you have fun on the creek? They really do care and these days, that counts!

Novice kayakers
My husband and I went to Birmingham, AL for visiting our friends, who usually go this place on weekends. They had the incredible idea of driving us to Redneck Yacht club. This was our first time kayaking and we loved it! Kayaking tour is a must do for anyone traveling close to Piedmont, AL. After being well equipped with a cooler with cokes, beers, chips and other snacks, swimsuits and sunscreen, we left our car at the parking spot. There is a van which drives you to the beginning of the river, where you rent individual kayak ($30) or double kayaks ($50) for going down the river. We spent 4.5 hours on this place, it was incredible. There are spots where you can get out and eat, swim or just enjoy yourself and the beautiful views. Make sure you do the “waterfall”…

The Takeout is Awesome!
There are two kayak outfitters in Piedmont, and both are good for different reasons. At Redneck, you leave your yak at the insert point, drive to the takeout point, and they transport you back to the start point. This is good, as your yak never needs to be loaded. There are changing rooms and restrooms here, and the staff is friendly. The driveway is a bit scary for city slickers, lol. I have rented from Redneck, and the kayak was in good shape. The takeout method is well worth the trip!! AWESOME! You'll see.....
