Porsche Sport Driving School - Day Classes, Alabama, United States
5.0 (25 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Leeds Adrenaline & Extreme Tours
Superb driving experience
I attended Porsche Sport Driving school day classes August 21-22, 2018. I was an observer for the August 23-24, 2018 classes. The Barber Motorsports track is perfection. It has different degrees of banking, elevations, 3 straight a ways. The instructors are the cream of the crop. Whether you are a novice or experienced driver, I would highly recommend attending, it is worth every penny. The entire staff and catering company is top notch. It is a well oiled machine. Positive comments from the staff, yet they let you know what you need to do to improve. Each day is an all day event, wear comfortable clothing, tie shoes, sunglasses.

Great Gift for the Ungiftable
So you are looking to get something for the person who has everything, and someone suggested this? Look no further. My wife purchased the one-day class for me for a ridiculous amount of money, and it was totally worth it. Crazy awesome amazing day; I drove a GT3RS, a $300,000 vehicle, sideways in the rain at 115 miles per hour, quite safely! I drove a Cayman S, the 991 Carrera S in both manual and PDK, a Macan S, a Boxter, a Macan, and did several launches in a 991 Turbo S which had me shouting happy explicatives which were captured by the on-board cameras pointing at me and at the roadway. I was scared at first, but the training and the experiences are so awesome that I am a better driver now by a wide margin. I spun out a brand-new Carrera S on the skid pad INTENTIONALLY several times before I learned to drift! I zoomed around an F-1 track in a Cayman S with only 25 miles on the odometer! My wife purchased this more me for Christmas, and we did it last week. She said all of us, 27 men and 1 woman between ages 40-70, were "giddy as schoolgirls" after every session, and she was right. She rode along with instructors on the track several times and joined us for the first-class lunch as well, and had a blast. I cannot recommend the PSDS any higher. If you want to do something awesome and unexpected for your husband (mostly) or wife (a few) who is any sort of car lover, this is perfect. If you own a Porsche (we do) or are any sort of Porschephile, this course or anything like it is an absolute MUST. It gives me a new appreciation for just what these machines can do, and I don't even have to drive me own. Finally, we zipped over to the Atlanta Experience in our Carrera S the day after Barber just to check it out. The track in Atlanta doesn't even compare. Not even close. Sure it would be great to turn a few laps on a very short course for $500, but I'm telling you, I did something like 50 laps around a 2.5 miles course, plus several laps of autocross and so much other fun stuff. Spend the extra cash. Then watch for the smiles.
