Cool story & visual!

The book, "13 Ghosts of Alabama" speaks about a permanent face in the upper window of the Pickens County Courthouse. The story is interesting & the ability to see the face is awesome. Keep in mind the window has been replaced many times & the face continues to reappear. (Cue Twilight Zone music). Not much else to do in Carrollton, Alabama, but do stop in at The Pizza Doctor for some of the best pizza on the planet. It's behind the courthouse on the circle. It may not look like much, but it's TOTALLY worth a stop in for fantastic pizza, cheese sticks (to die for), huge chef salad, and many more items.

    not a must-see, but amusing
My boyfriend and I appreciate local folklore when traveling, and this ghost story was worth a 20-minute route detour. Interesting statues on the property as well!

    Lightning face in the window
So...the legend goes on that this guy who allegedly burned down the other courthouse was being pursued by an angry mob ready to Lynch him. While looking down at the approaching townsfolk a bolt of lightning struck him through the window permanently leaving an image of his face in the window. You can certainly see something in it and if you randomly find yourself in Pickens county check it out. We didn’t see any ghosts but the Pizza Doctor’s bathroom across the street is pretty horrific if you want a scare.
