Great stop and future location to visit.
I was bringing my brother, Tom, down to our Florida home for a fishing tournament, and first hotel choices were all booked, what a great mistake. We drove about 33 miles more to Clanton and Holiday Inn staff told us to try this place, and we did. The BBQ here was top notch and I have judged BBQ in Illinois fests. Save room for the desserts they offer too. I tried the peach cobbler with peach ice cream and my brother had Peach cheesecake ice cream and he said it was amazing.

Cafeteria with smoked southern meats
We ate dinner here and food was very good. They premake it since smoked ribs and meats cannot be done in 10 minutes. Sides were made as needed. We really didn't know what to expect, its a cafeteria for food with ice cream/bakery and retail store with other local stuff - food etc. When you get there, you order your food, pay for it and then find table to sit at and eat. There are various sauces to use on the smoked food as well as self-serve drinks. The ice cream is good but was very soft and messy due to temperature- we both had waffle cone but probably should have ordered a dish. The store itself had items which would be good to have but due to being on vacation and going to home in which food allergies are a problem, could not buy. Note after driving 9 hrs didn't enjoy park just wanted to go to bed.
