Very historic

This place hurt my heart and inspired me at the same time. Such an important part of history. It's very unfortunate that the area is not maintained at the highest level. But I appreciate the effort to keep dream alive and well. We need to invest more to make it a reality

    Wow
This museum is an interactive experience in which the museum visitor is being taken as a slave from Africa to Alabama on board a small vessel. During the approximately one hour ordeal, the slave/visitor is separated from his/her friends and family, degraded, humiliated, and taunted. It's a powerful, eye-opening hour. It ends with a candid discussion of each other's thoughts, biases, and fears.
