Walking, Fishing or Canoeing, the Lake is a nice Sideline
Lake Heflin is located only a few blocks from the downtown area of the small rural Southern town of Heflin. Surrounded by trees, flowers and a nice neighborhood, the lake is a relaxing spot for those who want to put a canoe into the water and/or enjoy a walk around the lake on the paved streets. Local residents and visitors enjoy the exercise any time of the year and if you have the proper fishing license you can also find a place to throw out a hook and spend as long a time as you wish. There are several pull-off rough parking areas and if you visit on any day besides Sunday you may be able to use the parking at the nearby Episcopal Church. After you have enjoyed some time in nature you may wish to drive back in town, visit a local restaurant or check some antique shops
