A True Drive In Gem
I go to a lot of drive-ins, have been to several in states like PA, WI, IA, AL and all over. This has to be my favorite, or at least in my top 3. The owners are great. They provide bikes, big wheels, and other toys for kids to enjoy before the show. A lot of locals go here, including young teens for chaperoned dates. The King provides a nice public service to the community and to rural Alabama. Architecturally, the King is stunning. They still have the old marquis and ticket booth. But what really sets it apart is the snack bar. Original fixtures, booths, and signage from 1949! The original counter including formica and stainless steel accents. No drive in snack bar I have been to is close to being this nice and original. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Outside the layout is great. The King is fairly small so each spot, even in the back, get you a good view of the screen. The location is great, easy in/out. If you are a drive-in buff, visit the King. Even if you are a ways, make the drive.

Favorite date night
I love taking my son to the drive in. It's always fun for the both of us and doesn't cost a fortune for a single mom on a budget. We usually go here every couple of weeks to see the new movies.
