An Unexpected Pleasant Visit
We had heard of this museum but had never visited here. The museum is small but houses an interesting collection of artifacts that belonged to George Washington and his contemporaries. The docent is very knowledgeable of Washington and the treasures on display.

Local attraction for George Washington historians.
If you are a history buff, then make plans to visit the George Washington Museum in Columbiana, Alabama, Shelby County. The museum has an extensive collection of memorabillia from George Washington and Martha. The museum has many personal donated items. The trip is interesting for adults and children. Call the Columbiana Public Library to make a reservation for a group or personal tour of the museum. I took an entire class of 5th graders there. They were fascinated.

Enjoyed our visit!
We were visiting Birmingham for a few days and decided to go see Columbiana. It’s a nice small town and everyone was friendly. This museum was very interesting. The tour guide was knowledgeable and we learned a lot. There is no charge and donations are welcome.
