Jay Landings Marina, Alabama, United States

3.5 (3 reviews) Spent Ranking #18 in Decatur Marinas

Decatur Alabama RV Park

I truly enjoyed staying there. The prices were good and the management were friendly. I didn't use the marina portion of the park, but it looks like they could launch just about anything from there. There are other options (more famous) but they had the rv's almost on top of each other...almost like sardines. You can stretch your arms there, picnic areas, fishing docks...just nice.

Recently I was in Decatuar for business. I always take my RV. So I was searching for a place to park for the week. I called several places and no one had availability. I called Jays RV two weeks earlier and they didn’t have any space but luck has it they had a cancellation and so I took the opportunity to stay here. At first glance, I was a little skeptical but once I met the owner and his daughter. I was convinced I made the right choice. They have beautiful shady and grassy sitting areas looking at the lake. You can also see the lake from every campsite just about. Currently they are putting in a brand new swimming pool. There is a marina so there also lots of boats around. The prices are reasonable. Sites are decent. So if you’re travel plans brings you through Decatuar, AL and you need a place to park your RV. Give the staff here a call.

1 night stay after reserving for 3
Very similar to roughing it (mud and all) by the river only with electric, water and sewer. Regardless of anything (State or personal emergencies), reservations not cancelled 7 days in advance are not refundable where other campgrounds did give us a refund due to a state declared emergency. On May 27, 2018 when “The governors of Alabama, Florida and Mississippi declared a state of emergency in their states as Subtropical Storm Alberto spread north and west. As for a overall review of Jay’s Landing in Decatur Alabama, see below: Con’s: -Interface with management done only by phone. Reservation, check-in & problem resolution. -400 feet of very pot holed narrow driveway. Many potholes in little bit of asphalt then much more potholes in the more clay than gravel drive. (Very muddy when it rains) -More long term “campers” in the park then recreational RV campers -Paper litter, cigarette butts, nut & bolts, metal scraps found on camp sites. -Bathroom & shower building is far from camping sites -Sites are close to each other -No fishing allowed. Pro’s - 2 unisex bathrooms & showers were clean -Site utilities (electric, water & sewer) are convenient. Electric 30 amp circuit showed good connection and grounding. -Reservation email sent with a site map document with your site. -Picnic tables at each site. -Nice river view Common area gazebo with a fire pit and a little playground. Has the makings of a nice RV park… Someday
