Nicest place to visit in Gadsden

Great museum for the area. Friendly staff in a clean environment. Mixed with art the museum has moved forward in many way in the past few years even adding a complete upstairs showroom. In the center of downtown it worth your time to visit. It's free!

    Splash of Culture
I visited the Gadsden Museum of Art this week with my Aunt, who is a very well known artist from Birmingham. Her impression of this small, quaint gallery was already positive so it was easy for me to see why. A local show was underway with a variety of paintings (oil, watercolor, acrylic) and one or two pottery exhibits. Colorful, varied, and depicting life in a small rural town, the pieces were quite representative of Gadsden itself. Ad d to the mix a lovely courtyard, a children's museum, and a bustling cafe with Southern cooking, and you've got time well spent and culturally fulfilling.

    VERY small but proud
This is the smallest ' museum' I've ever been to. When I went, it had an interesting general history of Alabama timeline with lots of artifacts. They do seem to love their quilt shows here. Not exactly my thing but I can appreciate the hard work done in the works and exhibit. Also, it's free, so there's no harm in checking it out and making a donation if you enjoyed it.
