Fruithurst Winery Co., Alabama, United States

Number 6 on our North Alabama Wine Trail trip

This was by far the longest drive of the six wineries but worth the ride. Young girl doing our pours was sweet, engaging and knowledgeable about her wines. Winery was heavy on the sweets. Like all the wineries Muscadine Grapes were the headliner for all the great wines in the area. It was here that we received our last Passport stamp and got to choose our etched wine glasses. The gentleman reminded us to fill out and mail in or scan and email, the Wine Passports for a nice little commemorative gift. Give this Wine Trail a try. Everyone has a great story and wonderful people.

    Great little place
We made day trip to this little winery. Small family run winery with really good muscadine wines. We saw that they offered tours so we asked about it. It wasn't super busy that day so one of the employees took us in the back to show us around. It was a very small area where the wine is made. I was surprised as I expected something larger but it was educational and I appreciated the tour and information. Make sure to taste all the wines before purchase as some are a little sweeter than others. It is free to taste the wines which is also a plus. There is also a small gift shop as well. I will definitely go back.

Blackberry wine is worth a try
On a day of visiting a couple wineries, we visited Fruithurst Winery. Google maps does show it being 1/2 mile further than it actually is, so when you notice vineyards, you are almost there. We tried several white and red wines. Surprisingly, I've found a blackberry wine that is easy to drink. Not sickening sweet but not dry either.
