Peaceful touching Place

If you love history you should visit here. Enjoyed strolling and reading the different stones. The whole cemetery has some very old burials and is well cared for.

    Ultimate Sacrifice !
Here lies the graves of 300+ confederate soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the uncivil war. Most came from the Grand Hotel across the street when it was being used as a Civil War Hospital. They died of their wounds and were placed in this private memorial cemetery. We paused to thank them for their sacrifice! See photos once posted.

    Lost but not Forgotten
This cemetery was first developed to bury the expired Confederate soldiers who were patients at the local hospital, a converted Hotel, The Grand Hotel. This is the final resting place of at least 300 unfortunate young men and we have no records of who they are. For a better understanding of this historical spot, read my book, Forgiveness, by Phillip Kendrick.
