Great Staff,Clean, Safe and Great Photo Opportunity
We have stopped here many times over the years. We take photos at state welcome centers with state signs - this location has the current sign PLUS two unique statues which are both great photos and full of history. The staff have always been nice and the restrooms always clean. As always, be aware of your surroundings - especially at night - but this is a fun and safe place.

Helpful, friendly staff
If you're going to Alabama for the first time or you've been there a lot, it's worth a stop at the Visitor Center to see what you might be missing. The ladies inside have a lot of knowledge. I'm looking forward to going to Cheaha State Park tomorrow and wouldn't have checked it out of I simply Googled "things to do in Alabama". Talking to someone in person about how far away something is and other tips is better than a Google search any day.

Knowledgeable Staff--Very Clean Restrooms
Stopped in for restroom and to get a drink. We found the restrooms to be well maintained Vending machines offer a variety of drinks & snacks Picnic tables are available in a nice setting..The lady on duty was able to tell us which exit we should use to avoid heavy traffic in Birmingham as our GPS was directing. We took Exit 188 at Oxford and saved time as well eliminating dealing with heavy traffic. That exit had a variety of restaurants, gas stations, & shopping choices The drive was a more scenic one as well.
