What a location!

We found this by accident when googling what was around locally, and wow it was amazing! The mansion is stunning but what makes this place are the volunteers. We came across 3 of them dressed up in one of the old houses today and they were amazing full of info. The view over Huntsville is incredible

    Lovely experience
The Pioneer Village was wonderful! The view is amazing. It's so peaceful and serene. There are folks in period dress in the cabins performing jobs such as cooking or blacksmithing who take time to show you what they are doing and explain the process. They know about the cabins themselves as well. Friendly and patient with questions. Plus the staff in the Gift Shop are obliging and go out of their way to make things pretty for gift giving. The actual Burritt Mansion was a little disappointing. A lot of the furnishings have been removed except for a parlor you cannot enter and the Dining Room. Most of the dishes are on display though. You certainly can't beat the price though.

    Pretty Cool!
The whole experience was worth the $12 I paid to get in. The people working in the gift shop/welcome center were VERY friendly. The lady in the mansion was very loquacious and didn't mind answering all of my questions. Everyone we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a very laid back experience. I LOVE places like this and HATE that I have lived 60 miles (or less) for 25+ years and didn't know it existed. Everyone should GO
