Old fashioned fun
This is an awesome local gem. We call it the watering hole. There’s a bend which makes this like a lazy River. A rope swing. Even a tiny beach! Nearby parking, bathroom and picnic tables make this a free fun activity. If you don’t believe in letting children get dirty this ain’t for you.

When we see a sign for a park, we always check it out. I could have done without seeing this one. I've seen pictures of children playing in the water and it's hard to believe parents would allow their kids to get in. The water was brown, had some green scum, had some orange water at the banks, and just didn't look fit to even put a toe in. There was even a rope to swing on and drop into the Fish River and planks nailed to trees to climb and I assume jump into the river. It didn't even look deep enough to me to do that. It does have a sandy beach but it was also dirty and some spots had standing water that was sort of orange in color. I saw quite a bit of broken glass in the sand too. They say you can fish and paddle here but I'm just not sure of the quality of the water. I saw one picnic table but the views would not be the best while eating. There is also a very short trail that wasn't bad but still, the only view was a nasty river. There were more trails on the other side of the river but we didn't check them out.
