    Got its name honest
I have been wanting to paddleboard here for quite sometime and have put it off several times. With Fall approaching, I decided to go before the chill set in and everything turns brown along the landscape. NOTE: the primary purpose of this place is for scuba diving. When I arrived, the parking lot was packed. I ended up having to park outside the gate along the road along with many other patrons of course. However, I arrived at 12:30PM ish on a Saturday and the park opened at 9:00AM. Luckily, the line was not long at all, everyone was maintaining social distancing (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and several customers, including me, were wearing face coverings. The staff was friendly, I paid my $7 and since I brought my own paddleboard, I didn’t have to bother with the $15/hr rental costs for their equipment (they have kayaks, paddleboards and other diving accessories available for rental) You are required to sign a waiver as well to use the property... so I signed my life away and off I went. Everyone who was there was under water diving, so I had the top of the water all to myself until about 2PM ish. The put in location was cool... didn’t think about it much getting to the water as it was downhill. But once I was leaving, after paddling around for 3 or so hours, I felt like I was climbing Everest with a paddleboard and paddling gear on my shoulder but essentially it was an easy in - easy out situation. The blue water was magnificent... the name of this business suits it... just a very clean and clear rock quarry and landscape. I meandered around the edges mainly enjoying the wildlife (fish, birds and turtles) as well as some visible sunken items to appease the divers in training. NOTE: on this day, I could see possibly about 10-12ft below the water surface it was so crystal clear. I didn’t leave until about 4:00PM ish. I can’t comment on the restrooms or changing areas as I didn’t use them but the main lobby area looked very well taken care of. Overall, this place did not disappoint. I was very pleased with this establishment and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice little day paddle.

    If you Scuba... STOP HERE
My boyfriend and I were visiting family in Gadsden and decided to take a trip down to Pelham for a day of diving. We arrived early and were greeted by Blake and he got us squared away in no time. Top of the line rental gear and a friendly attitude got us geared up and headed down to the quarry. There was just one other group of divers that we saw which left a large quarry for exploration without infringing on others. This is a great place to see the fish and turtles up close and they are not shy in the least, following us from wreck to wreck. The water was clear with about 25 feet of visibility at 30-45 ft. We were very pleased with the service and diving so we will most definitely be stopping by again when we are in the area.
