Unexpected gem

We were visiting Orange Beach from Kansas in late August, and I scoped this place out as something I thought my 4 year old would enjoy. It was a little drive from Orange Beach, but a great break from the sand for a day. I don't know what I expected, but this place was fantastic. It is very well maintained and the staff is super friendly. We were there for a feeding and the handler doing the feeding was entertaining, knowledgeable, and answered all sorts of questions. My daughter got to hold and pet a baby alligator as well. You have opportunities to buy reasonably priced "treats" to feed the gators and they come in a cute souvenir cup you can take home. Really enjoyed the swamp area and walking on the boardwalks looking at all the massive adult gators.

    Great Place!!
Alligator Alley is a hidden gem, there's not a lot of advertising, no signs out on the highway. But you should make this a part of your vacation to Gulf Shores. Alligator Alley is beautifully landscaped, clean and neat. We went for the 11:00 am feeding time, and it was fun, informational, and a close-up of these magnificent beasts. It was a cool day, so the alligators were not as active as a warmer day. Fred, 500 pounds and about 12 feet long, was the star, but he wasn't hungry. We learned new things and enjoyed the show very much. It's open every day, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Adults are $17, seniors are $15, children 3-12 are $15, toddlers 2 and under are free. A cup of alligator chow is $6 and worth every penny. Live feedings are 11 am, 1 pm and 4 pm.

    Fun 2 hour excursion
This was a fun part of our spring break trip! For our family with 2 teens, we spent about 2 hours here. The standout employee for us was Sherry. She had a baby alligator that you could hold and she was so great about getting our hesitant child to first pet him and then actually hold him! She was so kind and made us all feel right at home. We watched her later interact with an adult young man with down syndrome and she again had such an amazing interaction with him, it was heartwarming. They do a live feeding several times a day and that is highly recommended. Full of facts about the almost 600 alligators they have on-site but also pretty funny and entertaining.
