Great place to walk

Enjoy the beautiful gardens as you take an easy hike around the lake. Also there is a Veteran's Memorial and sculpture in the gardens. Go inside the house to see art collections that change periodically and Frank Fleming sculptures.

A lovely, quiet place to get back to nature.
What a lovely way to spend some time enjoying the outdoors. The grounds are lovely. The lake has numerous ducks, geese, fish, turtles and you can purchase small bags of feed for 25 cents, so the kiddos can feed them. Luckily we were there when the geese had their babies and were SO cute. It is open to the public during the day and is FREE (also FREE parking). Late afternoons are for members only, and they have certain days when members can fish and/or bring their dogs (check their website). They also offer summer morning camps (grades K thru 4th). All the kids were so enjoying themselves. Wish I had had more time to check out some of the walking trails. Grandkids enjoyed the feeding of critters. Recommend bringing a picnic lunch. Gift shop was small, but nice. And the volunteers were extremely helpful. They do have a donation box on the way out, and that is up to you, but it was well worth a few dollars to keep such a beautiful place available to the public. You can come and go as you please.

    Nature Trail not a Garden
First thing: this is more of a nature trail and walk around a lake than it is a garden. Nothing wrong with that as you do get to encounter some beautiful nature. The trail is quite easy to walk and can be done by all fitness levels. A lot of people seem to use it to run laps around. The time I went the majority of people were not using it for a peaceful stroll. Another strange thing I noticed was I was the only person walking around the lake clockwise, everyone else was going counter clockwise. Not sure what the deal with that was. With that being said, it is a nice little walk among nature and would recommend it.
