Needed help on where to stay for the night

We were on our way to Orange Beach Al and after driving 7 hours we needed a place to stay. We were stopping at Al Welcome Center for rest room and walked in to the Welcome Center to ask if they could offer suggestions where to stay. The two ladies were really nice and helpful. They suggested Birmingham and I want to go further and asked about Montgomery. They told me that was another 4 hours - give / take some and that was too far. They suggested Clanton Al on I65 and gave us a book with the Clanton Hotels listed. The one lady suggested stopping at Peach Farm to eat since it had good food and wasn't real expensive. We took their suggestion of Clanton and were happy they were around to help.

    Love the Rocket
We stopped by the Alabama Welcome Center on I-65 South to use the restroom and stretch our legs. The restrooms were good and relatively clean. The highlight though was the full-size rocket on site. I love how Alabama includes things like this at their welcome centers. It was very impressive and showcases the areas space industry. It’s definitely worth a stop along the highway when passing through.

    Good place to stop
You can't miss this rest stop because of the impressive Saturn 1B rocket which can be spotted from far away. Less impressive are the bathrooms which seem fairly old and not all that clean. (Well, these are public restrooms after all.) However, the Saturn 1B, the Korean War Memorial and the Vietnam War Memorial make this a good place to stop. Plus, the rest area provides spacious areas to picnic, stretch the legs and walk the dog. There are also vending machines where drinks can be purchased.
