Great Place To Visit To Get Out Of The Rain

Upon entering you are given plastic bags to put over your shoes. If your shoe size is larger than size 7, it will take at least 3 bags that don't rip to accomplish this task. This museum was interesting to see the amount of gifts ths politician received. It now makes sense to me why people go into politics. Very interesting place to visit. Lots of cameras, gold, gifts, and landscaped grounds.

    Visit for the perspective
I think this is worth visiting just for the point of view. It is definitely unusual to see a museum dedicated to one president (especially as he's still alive), and the hero worship on show is the real attraction. Definitely worth a visit for a more holistic understanding of young Kazakhstan, as much of its ambitions and success have also been derived from this one man. As a previous reviewer has said, it takes a lot of ego to set up a museum dedicated to yourself, but it is also this ego that must undeniably have made Kazakhstan what it is today. That aside, the museum is actually a pretty good museum and also does give a good overview of Kazakhstan, and its many bilateral relations with other countries (which did surprise me - even from my own country which I had not known about). The display of gifts from other countries to Kazakhstan was definitely the part I enjoyed most. They also had us wear shoe covers (like shower caps for feet) to preserve the cleanliness of the place - so this place is definitely very very important. No photography allowed btw. We also had a guided tour which was very comprehensive and informative.

Museum of the First (and only) President
So curious to find a museum dedicated to the legacy of a president who's still alive but there's a lot of Nazarbayev in Astana so it's not that unusual. Free entrance and a few interesting knick-knacks to look at including many gifts he was given by other presidents. All in all he's done some pretty cool stuff for his country so he may as well allow his own horn tooted in museum form.
