More Than A Library with Historical Artifacts on Display
When I was a Cub Scout we went on a field trip to the Dyer. I have been back a few more times most recently last month when I was in town and had some spare time. I am a history buff and this place feeds my interests for local tri-town (Abington, Rockland, and Whitman) memorabilia. The staff is well versed on the exhibits as well as their selection of books. This is a good place to bring you 12 to 16-year-old kids for a little local history.

History buffs take note
The Dyer Memorial Library is run by the Old Abington Historical Society and provides a great glimpse of the past workings of Abington, Mass. and the surrounding towns. They are especially active in having guests come in and present items and discuss issues that surrounded the town in days gone by. President Doug Ulwick is very active in preserving pieces of Abington's historical significance. If you are a history buff make time to visit this gem.
