Worth the 9 mile round trip

Getting here is long but so worth the walk, the car park is expensive but the money goes back into maintaining the environment your walking round. Before you start your walk there are public toilets at the start, well maintained and clean. The walk is split into 2 parts but we did the left walk and I wasn’t left disappointed. For the 9 mile walk round every where I looked it was stunning. The paths are well maintained but if your disabled or in a wheelchair you can only go so far, but do it. You get to see the house Prince Charles uses to paint his oil paintings from but it’s 6 miles round the way we went to get close to it. Lovely place to stop and have a picnic. Only thing I was disappointed about was there were no benches which could be placed round the loch for you to rest on. The weather was perfect for our walk

    Car Park
Quick note to remind walkers that car park is £4 coin only or pre pay using the “outdooraccesstrustforscotland” website where there is a paypal link. Nb. Next to no signal nearby. Great walk round the loch and good access to longer distance routes. Track on north side very bike able if you want a quicker way in for a longer walk.

    A real sense of Scotland
Stunning loch. It is about 8miles down a single track road, with occasional passing places, not suitable for large vehicles or caravans. There is a parking area (£5 flat fee) which may be full, and there is no alternative. There are toilets, but when we went they hadn't been cleaned for eight days according to the cleaners rota, and they looked like it. You can either do a short or a long loop. The latter is a bit more tricky on the East side, but a good path on the West. Suitable for slightly older children Well worth a visit, we really enjoyed the walk and solitude
